Fibromyalgia: My Experience
Victoria reborn from the
ashes of pain
Is it possible to get your life back after a fibromyalgia diagnosis?
My answer is a resounding yes. For more than 30 years, I lived in a body that hurt "even in the shower water."
I went from medical incomprehension to being wheelchair-bound, even thinking there was no way out. But at my darkest point, I discovered that the key wasn't a magic cure, but understanding my own nervous system.
This book is my testimony of transformation and a neuroscience-based guide so that you too can move from survival to functionality.
What makes this book different:
Real Validation: It's not just medical theory; it's the voice of someone who has felt the "cruel and merciless" pain you feel.
Scientific Basis: We explain Central Sensitization and Neuroplasticity in a simple way so you can understand why you're in pain and how to retrain your brain
Caregiver's Vision: Communication and support tools to make your family your best ally, preventing emotional exhaustion.
A reading with a social purpose:
By purchasing this book, you are taking care of yourself and others. 20% of each sale is donated to foundations in Latin America (Colombia, Chile, Argentina, among others) to provide wheelchairs and crutches to low-income patients.
Your pain has a purpose, and your recovery begins today.
" Pain dwells in the body, but hope always chooses to stay in the soul ."
Maria Victoria Ramos.

One of the most valuable aspects of the book is that it doesn't sugarcoat reality, but neither does it dwell on the pain. There's a progression toward rebuilding, how she managed to improve her quality of life, how she reinvented herself, how she found meaning. As a patient, reading that someone went through the same thing or worse and managed to climb out of the abyss, even if slowly and with relapses, gives a great deal of real hope.

I'm not much of a reader. I've never been good with books, I have trouble concentrating, and between work, the kids, and being tired, I just don't have the mental space to sit down and read. But someone told me about this book… and I don't know what it was, but I started reading it.
I'll just say this: it's not a book, it's a hug. It made me cry, it made me think, it made me feel less alone.
And today I find myself telling other people: you have to read it. If I, who never read, finished it with tears in my eyes, it's because this book has soul.

I felt included from the first paragraph.
Put that line in the introduction:
“If you are a man going through this difficult ordeal, please don’t feel excluded.” It was a gesture that, although brief, opened the door and invited me to enter.
In a world where fibromyalgia is considered "a women's issue," your direct recognition breaks that initial stigma.
Reading you gave me permission to name my pain without shame. Because you did it with courage, without sugarcoating it.

ABOUT ME
